The New Training Sessions at SideKix

Ok so my new role kicked in last week as fitness dude for this mob and their football teams. Here is what I did last week and this week (Keep same routine for all teams through that week hence I can publish this now).

Last Week:

Warm up jog around park - 2 laps
Stretching
Demonstration of Free Standing Squats, Lunges

The Routine:
10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 - Squats & Lunges with 1 lap of park between each set

ie. 10 Squats then 1 lap ... 10 Lunges then 1 lap ... 9 squats then 1 lap ... etc.

Finished off with a taster of stability ball work (used my own)

This Week:

Warm Up
Stretching
Demo of Squat-Thrusts, press ups, stability ball exercise, Crunches, Dumbbell pushpress (used old plastic set and elastic exercise thingy)

The Routine:
2 laps at larger park (6 at smaller)
Choice of above exercises started and continued until runners arrived back ... then they change place. On arrival back ANOTHER exercise is done until runners arrive back. Continued for 30 minutes
Finished off with shuttle runs and press ups/sit ups at each number called out. Continued for 10 minutes.

What a state some of these guys are in. I havent trained for ages and I could still leave them standing. Difficulty is getting them motivated to do it and keep doing it. Seems to be going ok for now anyway.

New Role

Ok so here is an update on the work front. Have been involved in sport coaching with this mob for a wee while now and as of last week my role has now changed.

I am now the fitness trainer for all their football teams around North Glasgow. This is much better as I get to do what I do best (talk crap! ha ha!).... only kidding .... teach fitness.

Big 'D' .... if u read this matie I have to thank you and your cross fit influence as I used a wee bit of it last week .... really useful when ur standing in the middle of a park with no equipment and 16 guys around u waiting on a training session. Get u over one night if u like to do an actual session. Have told this mob I will need equpipment though if they want me to progress the programme.

other than that Uni seems to be going ok ... have settled my ass down now and think that if I keep on top of it I should be ok.

OT Class of 2007

Ok so I turned up to do this course. For any guys reading this you might at first think ........

U LUCKY F###ER ! but let me tell you it isnt.

I am the only guy in a class of 19 students all of who are younger than me ..... and luckly not that pathetic anoying age of 17.

Let me tell you ... walking into a classroom full of females is duanting. But all credit to the group ... they are really cool and have took me under their wing.

As for the course ..... WELL? ....... YIKES !!!!!! ...... ABOUT COVERS THE BASIC feeling. Got loads to do but hopefully worth it. The criteria is interesting anyway. Will keep posting the journey as it unfolds.
